This term we are learning to play rounders, we had great fun!

We are learning rules and how to be good sports in our teams.  We have some talented batters already!

We are exploring what tourism is and what it means for Cleethorpes.  We have considered tourist needs and how they will be met.

Using this knowledge we created designs for the old Pleasure Island site.  We will send a selection to the local council to ask for their opinions.

Next we will consider whether tourists or locals keep the economy of Cleethorpes afloat.

Maths Reasoning

In maths we are using our reasoning skills to explain whether questions have been answered correctly or not and why.  Using our skills from last week in multiplication, we are calculating and checking first.

Why not have a go at one?

You had 24 pens in a box and you put another 7 in each box.  You have 6 boxes, how many pens?

John’s answer is 1855.  Explain whether he is right or not.

Our new class reader began with a prologue.  It told a magical tale of the World of Sanctuary, the place the unicorns had found whilst being chased by the bounty hunters.

We described what we imaged the unicorns looked like and how they moved.

Fabulous writing!

Here is an extract from Ebony’s writing:

With striking legs the legendary unicorn fled towards the golden sand dunes.  His mysterious, magical eyes glared at Lucinda.  Everyone agreed that the twinkling eyes of the powerful unicorn looked as deep as a rabbit’s hole.  This unique unicorn shone at the bright moonlight.  His wings were feathery and very delicate.
